- First line (1): Initial Nine: No harmful interaction. This is not a fault. If there is difficulty, there will be no fault.
- Second line (2): Second Nine: A large cart to carry loads. There is somewhere to go. No fault.
- Third line (3): Third Nine: The duke offers a feast to the Son of Heaven. A petty person cannot do this.
- Fourth line (4): Fourth Nine: Not relying on his own abundance. No fault.
- Fifth line (5): Fifth Six: His sincerity connects with others, and he is majestic. Good fortune.
- Top line (6): Top Nine: Heaven bestows blessings upon him. Good fortune, nothing unfavorable.
In Practice
Great Possession shows fire in heaven: brilliance shining over everything. It is the hexagram of abundance, wealth, and large possession. Its emphasis is not on how to gain, but on how to hold. The judgment stresses that the one who possesses much must remain generous and modest — the great light shines on all, not only on the possessor. The teaching is that abundance is a stewardship. Held with humility and shared freely, it endures; clutched with arrogance, it provokes envy and slips away.
In love
A relationship rich in affection, attention, or material comfort. The question is whether that abundance is shared or hoarded. Generosity — of time, of warmth, of praise — is what keeps the wealth of a relationship from turning sour.
In career
You hold real resources, influence, or success now. The wise use is to share credit, develop others, and stay humble. Leadership that hoards the glory breeds resentment; leadership that distributes it builds loyalty and lasts.
In money
A period of genuine abundance. The test is stewardship: diversify, share where it is right, and avoid the arrogance that wealth can breed. Fortune favors the one who holds riches lightly and uses them well.
Guidance
Hold what you have with humility and generosity. Share the light, credit, and resources, and abundance will endure rather than provoke envy. The possessor's true work is stewardship.
Watch out
Abundance breeds arrogance, and arrogance invites loss. The moment you believe your wealth is yours alone and yours by right, you begin to lose it.
