In Practice

Grace shows fire below a mountain: light playing over the slope, illuminating its form. It is the hexagram of beauty, adornment, and outward form. Its teaching is double. Form matters — the well-chosen word, the thoughtful presentation, the grace that makes the plain lovable. But form is secondary; it adorns what is real, it does not create it. The judgment allows that grace furthers in small matters, while hinting that the truly great work rests on substance beneath the surface. Adorn the truth; do not paint over its absence.

In love

The romance, the gestures, the beautiful surface — these are good and worth tending. But they must rest on genuine care and compatibility. Polish the relationship, but do not mistake the polish for the foundation beneath it.

In career

Presentation matters now: how you frame your work, how you present yourself, the care you put into the details. But let it adorn real substance. A beautiful proposal with nothing behind it collapses; strong work, well presented, opens doors.

In money

Be wary of investments or offers that look beautiful on the surface but lack underlying value. Examine what is beneath the presentation. Beauty can sell, but only substance holds its worth.

Guidance

Attend to form — the word, the presentation, the grace — for it makes the good more reachable. But keep the substance real and the form in its proper, secondary place.

Watch out

Do not let the surface replace the substance. When form is all there is, it is not grace but disguise — and it will be seen through in time.
